When recombination was understood (a bioinformatics tale)

Presentation held for the International Max-Planck Institute Research School Ph-D students retreat in Hirschberg (Austria). The presentation starts with a historical introduction to Bioinformatics. Then I presented the storry of the PRDM9 gene and recombination hotspots in Mammals, as an illustration of integration of bioinformatics with molecular biology.
